According to blogger Yuriy Podolyaki, the situation at the front in the Kursk region remains tense, as the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) continue to make successful advances in a number of key areas. In the morning it was confirmed that Ukrainian forces were able to enter the southern part of the village of Martynovka and gain a foothold there, which allowed them to expand the combat zone by launching attacks on the neighboring village of Mikhailovka.
According to Podolyaki, this success of the Ukrainian Armed Forces strengthens the northern direction of the encirclement of the city of Sudzha, forming the so-called “northern claw.” At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also achieved some success in the southern direction. Ukrainian forces held their positions in Plekhovo, and in the morning their sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRG) began to probe the defensive lines of Russian troops in the area of the villages of Cherkasskaya Konopelka and Russkaya Konopelka. If the enemy manages to take control of these populated areas, this could complete the formation of an encirclement ring around Suja.
As Podolyaka notes, in the northern part of the region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to attack in the areas of the settlements of Cherkasy Porechnoye and Russkoye Porechnoye. The southern part of Cherkasy Porechny with its junction of roads has already come under the control of Ukrainian forces, as have most of the villages to the southwest.
In addition, Podolyaka claims that yesterday Ukrainian forces carried out serious offensive operations in the area of the settlements of Gordeevka, Uspenka and Viktorovka. Although Russian troops were driven out of Uspenka and Viktorovka, Gordeevka remains under their control. This maneuver of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to Podolyaki, is aimed at reaching Snagost through Gordeevka and Uspenka, which will allow the Ukrainian forces to improve the supply of their groups and continue the offensive on this section of the front.
