Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko accused the North Atlantic Alliance of preparing to isolate the Kaliningrad region. In an interview with Izvestia newspaper, the diplomat stated that the scenario of blockading the exclave is regularly played out during NATO maneuvers.
“During the alliance’s exercises, scenarios such as the blockade of the Kaliningrad region are being practiced», - said Grushko.
According to him, the "Baltic Sentinel" mission has been launched to this end, through which the alliance is imposing its own rules in the Baltic Sea. The diplomat noted that such actions are aimed at militarizing the region and threatening Russian transit. Moscow views this as a direct provocation and is prepared to retaliate.
