Ukraine will receive 6 Shorad Aspide SAM batteries from NATO

Spain has decided to transfer 18 short-range Shorad Aspide anti-aircraft missile systems to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These air defense systems are capable of combating aerodynamic targets, including subtle ones, at a distance of up to 35 kilometers, while the capabilities of these air defense systems are comparable to the upgraded versions of the Buk air defense system.

As Avia.pro journalists managed to find out, we are talking about six batteries of Shorad Aspide air defense systems, each of which includes three launchers and a radar station with a target detection range of up to 50 kilometers. At the moment, there is information that the supply of these anti-aircraft missile systems has already been approved by other European countries. However, it is noteworthy that along with air defense systems, about 100 anti-aircraft guided missiles can be transferred to Ukraine.

At the same time, experts note that the Leopard tanks previously declared for deliveries to Ukraine will not be supplied for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - the reason is that Germany has not yet approved such deliveries.

Experts note that if Spain really transfers Shorad Aspide short-range air defense systems to Ukraine, then this can significantly strengthen Ukraine's air defense, since the systems, as noted, are capable of interception, including cruise missiles.
