NATO threatened Serbia with the introduction of troops into Kosovo and the consequences

Serbian aggression against Kosovo will turn into a NATO reaction.

The NATO Secretary General announced his readiness to use the units of the North Atlantic Alliance against Serbia, in case Belgrade tries to carry out aggression against Kosovo. According to Jens Stoltenberg, NATO troops will immediately enter the territory of the unrecognized Republic of Kosovo, even despite the fact that Serbia is considered a partner of the North Atlantic Alliance and is preparing to join the military bloc in the near future.

At the moment, foreign media are reporting that on July 31, 2022, when the first conflict broke out between Kosovo and Serbia, NATO units were put on high alert. Nevertheless, thanks to the diplomatic solution of this issue, an armed conflict was prevented.

“NATO troops in Kosovo have been put on high alert. NATO KFOR troops in Kosovo, the largest NATO force in the region, are on high alert and have a mandate to respond if Serbia attacks tonight.”, the media reported on July 31.

Nevertheless, the NATO Secretary General announced his readiness to use NATO forces to suppress provocations and escalation if the conflict does take place.

“Now we have a significant mission: the military presence in Kosovo is almost 4 troops. If necessary, we will move troops, deploy them where necessary and increase our presence. We have already increased our presence in the north. We are ready to do more", - said Jens Stoltenberg.

Among other things, NATO fighter aircraft are located on the territory of Kosovo, and given the presence of an aircraft carrier strike group in the Adriatic Sea, there is a very high risk that NATO could provoke an armed conflict with Serbia, which is one of the key Russian partners in Europe.
