The Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost the opportunity to use the US and NATO satellite constellation in Bakhmut.

The large-scale losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Bakhmut, which have grown 10 times over the past week, as well as the retreat from some areas on the outskirts of Bakhmut, is due to the fact that the Ukrainian military has lost access to dozens of satellites. The problem turned out to be so unexpected that the likelihood of the Ukrainian troops leaving part of Bakhmut within the next 72 hours is more than likely.

Unfavorable atmospheric conditions turned out to be the reason for the loss of access to satellite data. In particular, we are talking about a large cloud cover. This does not allow Ukrainian troops to detect the movement of Russian military equipment, while the Russian military already knows all the existing positions and fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This made it possible to deliver accurate strikes, leaving no chance for the Ukrainian troops to intercept any initiative.

Over the past week alone, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Bakhmut amounted to about a thousand people. At the same time, rotation here is extremely problematic, and taking into account the fact that the Russian military has already begun to take the city into a semicircle and from the south, the situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is extremely unfavorable.
