A locomotive crew was injured in a collision between a truck and a train at a railroad crossing near Smolensk. According to a source at Avia.pro, the engineer and his assistant were diagnosed with moderate injuries and were taken to a hospital.
The incident occurred on the Rudnya-Golynki section, where a truck ran a red light, causing a collision with train No. 2567. The collision derailed six fuel cars, which ignited a fire, according to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations press service. Three fire trucks and four recovery trains were dispatched to the scene to address the aftermath.
Emergency services continue to work at the scene; traffic in the area has been suspended.
