The IL-112 for the first time will be shown to the public at the MAKS-2019 air show.

In late August, the MAKS-2019 air show will take place in Zhukovsky near Moscow. It will be for the first time presented to the general public the latest military transport aircraft IL-112В.

According to RIA Novosti, at the press conference in Moscow, Deputy Industry Minister of Commerce Oleg Bocharov suggested that the IL-112 on flight tests, which can be seen at MAKS, "Show thought" Ilyushin ".

As reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the IL-112V first test flight set off at the end of March this year at the Voronezh Aviation Plant. It lasted about thirty minutes.

After the tests, it was decided to modify the car, since in a number of characteristics it does not correspond to the terms of reference of the Russian Ministry of Defense. In particular, the weight of the aircraft turned out to be greater than envisaged. For this reason, he was unable to deliver a five-ton cargo for 1200 kilometers, rising from an unpaved airfield. To reduce weight, it is planned to change the structures that do not affect the strength of the airframe, and use composite materials. Such improvements will take about a year, and according to pessimistic versions - 2-3 years.

IL-112 was the first military transport aircraft created from scratch in post-Soviet Russia. In VKS, it will replace An-24 and An-26, which are already outdated.
