Unknown person shot people in North Ossetia

On the evening of May 15, 2025, a shooting occurred in the city of Ardon in North Ossetia, resulting in the death of a bystander and the injury of two others. The incident occurred at about 22:00 pm near a car wash on Proletarskaya Street. According to eyewitnesses, a VAZ-2107 drove up to the building, from which a man armed with a rifle got out. The unknown person opened fire indiscriminately, after which he fled the scene of the crime. The region has announced an "Intercept" plan to detain the attacker, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania reports.

The victim of the shooting was a 24-year-old local resident who happened to be near the scene of the incident. The young man received serious gunshot wounds and died in the ambulance without regaining consciousness. The owner of the car wash, a 38-year-old businessman, and another man who was nearby were also injured. Both wounded were taken to the Ardon District Hospital. According to doctors, their condition is assessed as moderate, there is no threat to life. The Investigative Committee of North Ossetia opened a criminal case under Articles 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder) and 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm).

According to preliminary information, the motives of the attacker are related to a personal conflict with the owner of the car wash. According to law enforcement sources, a few days before the incident, they had a quarrel, presumably due to financial disagreements. However, the exact circumstances and reasons for the conflict are being established. The identity of the shooter has not yet been disclosed, but the police have information about the suspect and are conducting operational and investigative activities. The VAZ-2107 car in which the attacker escaped was found abandoned on the outskirts of Ardon, which complicates the search.

The incident has caused a stir in Ardon, a town of about 18 people, with locals expressing concern about rising crime in the region.
