On the night of March 24, 2025, a major fire broke out in one of the city's parking lots in Vladivostok, as a result of which 22 cars burned down. According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Primorsky Krai, the incident began with an intentional arson committed by an unknown person. The attacker, who was captured on a surveillance camera, entered the parking lot, doused one of the vehicles with flammable liquid and set it on fire. The flames quickly spread to neighboring cars, covering a significant area of the parking lot.
Firefighters managed to localize and extinguish the fire on an area of 150 square meters, but they were unable to save the cars - the fire completely destroyed 22 vehicles. According to preliminary data, there are no victims or injured, which was the only positive outcome of the incident. The Ministry of Emergency Situations employees worked at the scene, who quickly eliminated the threat of further spread of the fire, as well as police officers who began investigating the circumstances of the arson. Currently, law enforcement officers are questioning witnesses and studying surveillance camera recordings to establish the identity of the perpetrator and the motives for his actions.
A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the incident under Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for liability for the intentional destruction or damage of property. The police emphasize that the arsonist acts boldly and, judging by the footage, prepared for the crime in advance. Sources do not rule out the version that the unknown person could have been the perpetrator, acting on the instructions of third parties, possibly associated with fraudulent schemes. This hypothesis is still at the verification stage, but already adds additional intrigue to the case.
The incident in Vladivostok has caused a wide response among the city's residents. On social networks, the owners of the damaged cars are sharing photos of the burnt cars and calling on the authorities to speed up the search for the culprit. Some of them suggest that the arson could have been an act of revenge or part of a showdown, although there is no official confirmation of this version yet. The amount of damage caused to the owners is still being determined, but it is already clear that we are talking about tens of millions of rubles, given the amount of equipment destroyed.
