Rostov Region suffered a large-scale attack. unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), which damaged residential buildings, and one of the probable targets could have been a branch of the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery, a key facility in the region's energy infrastructure. This was announced by the Governor of the Rostov Region, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation. On the night of December 14-15, the attack affected Rostov-on-Don, Kamensk, Novoshakhtinsk, as well as the Kamensky, Millerovsky, Chertkovsky, Belokalitvinsky, Sholokhovsky, Tatsinsky, Tarasovsky, Morozovsky, and Konstantinovsky districts. Fortunately, there were no significant casualties, although after-effects were reported in several districts.
The governor detailed the incidents: in Rostov, two cars caught fire near a private home, and the owner, who attempted to extinguish the fire himself, suffered a burn to his hand. He received medical assistance but refused hospitalization, and the fire was extinguished by the responding fire brigade. On Vsesoyuznaya Street, the roof of a private home was damaged, and in the village of Derkul in the Tarasovsky District, the roof of another building was damaged. Drone fragments fell on private properties in the village of Nizhnemityakin (Tarasovsky District), Staraya Stanitsa and Malaya Kamenka (Kamensky District), as well as in a residential area of Kamensk, where windows were partially shattered in several buildings.
Of particular concern was damage to a power line in the Kamensk district, which resulted in the shutdown of a water intake and pumping station. Residents of the Zavodskoy microdistrict in Kamensk, the Maslovka village, and the Pogorelovo station were left without water. Restoration work will begin after the UAV is neutralized, which requires a thorough inspection of the area. Emergency services have already been mobilized, and residents are urged to remain calm and follow government instructions.
