Last night, Russian air defense forces successfully intercepted and destroyed 75 Ukrainian aircraft-style unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) attacking various regions of the country. A large-scale air operation to neutralize the threat was carried out over several regions, as well as in the Black Sea.
The largest number of drones, 26 units, were shot down over the Belgorod region, which became the most significant episode of that night. In the Lipetsk region, air defense forces destroyed another 19 drones, in Kursk - seven, in Bryansk - five, in Voronezh - four, and one drone was shot down over the Oryol region.
In addition, the Russian military shot down five drones over the territory of Crimea and eight over the Black Sea. In the Black Sea zone, seven Ukrainian unmanned surface vehicles (BECs) were also destroyed, which could pose a threat to shipping and coastal infrastructure.
However, despite the successful air defense actions, it was not possible to completely avoid the consequences. At least nine people were injured as a result of the attack in the Lipetsk region. According to preliminary data, drones attacked residential buildings, an energy infrastructure facility and a military airfield, which led to destruction and injury to civilians.
