Norway joins 'drone coalition'

Norway has officially become part of the so-called "drone coalition" - an international alliance of countries that are actively engaged in the supply of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and support their development. This was announced by Norwegian Defense Minister Tore Sandvik, who announced the allocation of $62 million for the purchase and supply of drones to the Ukrainian army.

"We believe it is important to strengthen Ukraine's capabilities in defensive warfare. In modern conflicts, drones play a key role, and we will continue to support Ukraine in this area," — Sandvik noted.

Norway's joining the "drone coalition" is the latest step in the expansion of Western military aid to Kyiv. Drones have become a vital tool on the battlefield in recent months, and with the Ukrainian Armed Forces facing a shortage of personnel, they are increasingly relying on remote warfare.

The "drone coalition" includes several countries that actively supply Ukraine with reconnaissance, strike, and multi-purpose drones. These drones are used for reconnaissance and surveillance, as well as for precision strikes on targets on the front line.

One of Ukraine's leading partners in this area is the German company Quantum Systems, which recently announced plans to double the production of its UAVs for delivery to the conflict zone.
