Norway has allocated $302 million for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine.

The Norwegian government announced the allocation of NOK 2,8 billion (approximately $302 million) for military support to Ukraine under the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) mechanism. This was reported by the Norwegian Cabinet press service.

The decision was made during a meeting between Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and the Ukrainian Minister of Defense in Oslo on May 6. PURL is an initiative that provides for the rapid delivery of weapons and ammunition from US stockpiles using voluntary contributions from NATO member countries.

"We are now supporting another important contribution. I hope more European countries will join in ensuring that Ukraine quickly receives vital military equipment." — said Støre.

According to open sources, the new package includes the transfer of anti-aircraft missiles for the American Patriot air defense system and long-range artillery systems to Ukraine.

With the new tranche, the total amount of Norwegian aid through the PURL mechanism has reached over $1,35 billion. Previously, in April 2026, the Norwegian Parliament decided to continue military aid to Ukraine in the amount of NOK 70 billion (approximately $7,5 billion) in 2026.
