Norwegian experts have reported a recorded spike in background radiation on the border with Russia. According to experts, traces of elements characteristic of activities related to the launch or maintenance of a nuclear reactor, as well as nuclear weapons, were detected. Although the radiation level does not yet pose an immediate threat to human health or the environment, experts note that it is higher than normal.

Norwegian scientific services have already begun to carefully study the source of the increased radiation. According to their preliminary data, the radioactive elements detected in the air may indicate recent activity related to nuclear technology.
