The Russian microwave cannon will be able to hit shock drones at distances of up to 20 kilometers.

The information that has appeared that the Russian military is testing a prototype of the latest weapons, in particular, we are talking about an anti-aircraft microwave complex, allows us to judge that today this weapon may be the most effective means of combating unmanned aerial vehicles. At the moment, it is known that the effective range of target destruction by the prototype is about 5 kilometers, however, the serial complex is expected to be able to hit targets at distances of up to 20 kilometers.

According to various estimates, such complexes will appear in service with the Russian army by 2025, while they will become an effective weapon to combat any drones, since the probability of hitting a drone with a powerful microwave pulse does not require high accuracy.

To date, the Turkish Bayraktar attack drones have demonstrated the greatest efficiency, however, the latter turned out to be relatively useless against the Russian Pantsir air defense missile systems, although the Russian complexes did not guarantee timely detection and destruction of targets. Nevertheless, anti-aircraft microwave systems will be able to quickly repel even a massive drone attack.
