Beirut could plunge into massive protests on Wednesday, sparked by citizen outrage over incompetence and corruption that set the stage for one of the most powerful non-nuclear explosions ever to occur in the world.

Residents of Beirut demand answers from the authorities and want to bring to justice those responsible for the tragedy. The Ministry of Health of the country reported the death of more than 150 people, about 5 thousand people were injured in the explosion, and another 60 people are missing.

The latest victim of the tragedy in Beirut was the wife of the Dutch ambassador. The Dutch Foreign Ministry in Lebanon has confirmed that Hedwig Waltmans-Moliere, 55, died on Saturday from serious injuries from an explosion while in her home.

Four days after the explosion, there are fewer and fewer people left to find living people under the rubble, even though professionals from search and rescue teams were involved in the search for survivors.

And if the fumes and dust lifted into the air by the explosion settle, the understanding of the political consequences comes only now.
