The Slavneft-YANOS refinery has halted fuel production following a drone attack.

Yaroslavl News, December 15, 2025, Avia.pro. The Slavneft-Yaroslavnefteorgsintez (YANOS) oil refinery, which was hit by drones on Friday, December 12, has suspended fuel production, Reuters reports, citing industry sources. The refinery, located 250 km from Moscow and one of Russia's five largest, was damaged by a fire caused by the strike, damaging the AVT-4 unit, which accounts for a third of its capacity, as well as an oil loading rack. This forced the facility, owned by Rosneft and Gazprom, to temporarily cease operations.

According to Reuters, YANOS produced 2,6 million tons of gasoline, 4 million tons of diesel fuel, and 4,7 million tons of fuel oil last year, underscoring its importance to the Russian economy. The refinery became the second major refinery to halt production in December: a week earlier, on December 5, Rosneft's Syzran refinery, with a capacity of 8,5 million tons per year, was attacked by drones and also suspended refining.
