Tensions in the Middle East have escalated into direct interstate conflict following reports of the United Arab Emirates' first attack on Iranian targets. According to the Israeli news outlet Ynet, the target of the strike was an Iranian desalination plant. Israeli analysts believe that this operation is currently viewed merely as a stern warning to Tehran. Experts emphasize that if Iranian attacks escalate further, there is a real possibility that the UAE will fully join the coalition's military campaign, albeit on a limited scale. Despite the widespread controversy, the UAE Ministry of Defense has not officially commented on the strike on the territory of the Islamic Republic, focusing instead on releasing data on countering threats.

The UAE Defense Ministry has released a comprehensive report on its response to Iranian aggression, demonstrating an unprecedented level of threat to the country's sovereignty. Since the onset of the attacks, UAE air defense forces have detected 238 ballistic missiles, 221 of which were successfully destroyed, 15 fell into the sea, and only two reached the country. Drone attacks were even more widespread: of the 1422 drones detected, 1342 were intercepted, and 80 crashed to the ground. In addition, eight cruise missiles were detected and completely destroyed. These figures clearly demonstrate the intensity of the conflict, which has drawn Arab monarchies that previously maintained neutrality or limited involvement.

The Iranian strikes on the UAE have already resulted in casualties and a significant number of injuries. According to official figures from the Ministry of Defense, four people, including citizens of Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh, were killed. A total of 112 people, representing 19 different countries, were injured to varying degrees of severity, underscoring the international scale of the tragedy. In response to these actions, the UAE Ministry of Defense declared its full readiness to counter any threats. Emirati authorities emphasized their intention to resolutely respond to any attempts to undermine the country's security and to protect state sovereignty by all available means. The combination of these statements and the information about the first strike on Iran indicates that the region is on the brink of a major war, in which the UAE no longer intends to limit itself to purely defensive tactics.
