Russian military forces destroyed a Ukrainian-made Flamingo cruise missile for the first time, and later found its debris on Russian territory. This was reported on Wednesday by sources in the special military operation zone, citing data from the intercept site.
According to a military blogger with the call sign "Voevoda," the missile was traveling at approximately 600 kilometers per hour at an altitude of approximately 100 meters, making it vulnerable to air defense systems. The Flamingo was shot down by a Buk anti-aircraft missile system crew, according to a Telegram channel dedicated to events on the front.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has not yet officially confirmed the incident. Ukraine previously reported the successful use of the Flamingo in conjunction with Neptune missiles to destroy targets, but details of its characteristics and combat use remain limited.
