“They fire harshly, on almost every flight”: the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to attack Russian fighters and helicopters in the Kursk region

Well-known Russian military blogger Ilya Tumanov (Fighterbomber) commented on the situation in the Kursk region, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are actively trying to attack Russian aircraft. According to him, despite intense shelling, all Russian aircraft and their crews remain in their positions and successfully carry out combat missions.

Tumanov noted that attacks on Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft occur on almost every flight, but, fortunately, so far these attempts have been unsuccessful.

“They fire harshly, on almost every sortie, but to no avail. I hope it stays that way,” - writes the blogger, expressing confidence in the resilience of Russian military pilots.

He also highlighted the main threats to Russian aviation in this region. For aircraft, the most serious danger is posed by the Ukrainian S-300 complexes and the American Patriot air defense systems. In turn, the main threat to helicopters remains man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS), which Ukrainian forces actively use for shelling.
