Oryol region, June 14 — Avia.pro. A serious incident involving civilian casualties was recorded in the regional center, where a targeted attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles led to tragic consequences in a residential area.

According to an official statement by regional governor Andriy Klychkov on the Max platform, civilians were injured as a result of a direct strike by a Ukrainian drone on a multi-story residential building in the city of Orel overnight. Tragically, one person sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The head of the Oryol region clarified that nine more local residents suffered injuries of varying severity, and medical services are currently providing them with all necessary emergency care. Residents of apartments damaged by the fire and explosion were quickly evacuated from the danger zone and temporarily housed in city hotels.

The current situation at the site of the emergency is under the full control of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and law enforcement agencies, and specialists continue to address the aftermath of the air strike. Yesterday, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that air defense assets intercepted and destroyed a total of 249 Ukrainian drones over sixteen regions of the country overnight.
