Around 10 explosions rocked Yaroslavl due to a drone attack.

On the night of May 13, 2026, residents of Yaroslavl reported a series of explosions and the activation of air defense systems. Residents received a drone alert at around 04:30 AM. According to eyewitnesses, approximately 10 loud noises were heard in the southern part of the city around 04:50 AM. Due to the threat, Yaroslavl Airport was temporarily closed to incoming and outgoing flights.

Yaroslavl Region Governor Mikhail Evraev confirmed at 06:33 AM that air defense and electronic warfare forces repelled a Ukrainian UAV attack on approach to Yaroslavl that morning. Most of the drones were shot down, but debris from a downed drone struck an industrial facility in Yaroslavl. According to preliminary reports, there are no casualties.

The threat of attacks remains, and the Ministry of Defense and law enforcement agencies continue to ensure security. Residents are urged to wait for the "Unmanned Aerial Danger" signal to be lifted.

This attack occurred amid massive overnight strikes in other regions of Russia. Attacks were reported in Crimea, Krasnodar Krai, and Lipetsk Oblast. A major fire broke out at an industrial facility in the port of Taman after UAV debris fell. A UAV threat was also issued in Lipetsk Oblast. There is currently no official information regarding the complete elimination of the threat in Yaroslavl.
