Oman began supplying NASAMS US air defense systems to Ukraine

Oman has begun sending US NASAMS systems to Ukraine.

A few hours ago, an An-124 aircraft of Ukraine arrived from Oman to Polish Rzeszow, which delivered US NASAMS air defense systems to Poland. The exact number of NASAMS air defense systems sent is not disclosed, however, given that the latter were transported aboard the An-124 aircraft, we are most likely talking about at least half of the battery (up to 6 launchers, depending on the modification of the air defense system - note ed.).

A little earlier, it became known that the United States held talks with a number of countries in the Middle East regarding the issue of the temporary transfer to Ukraine of American NASAMS air defense systems with their subsequent compensation from the United States over the next six months. At the moment, it is known that Oman agreed to the supply of these weapons. However, countries such as Qatar and Kuwait have also expressed interest, although the countries have not yet come to a unified agreement, trying to get approval from the United States for the supply of additional types of American weapons.

Considering that the American systems have already arrived on the territory of Poland, it is likely that the transfer of these air defense systems to Ukraine will take place in the coming days. Moreover, if we are talking about even half of the NASAMS SAM battery, which is unlikely, then the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive a significant increase in their airspace sector.
