A tragedy occurred in the area of the special military operation (SVO), which took the lives of two employees of the Zvezda TV channel. Cameraman Andrei Panov and the driver of the film crew Aleksandr Sirkeli died while performing their professional duties. The circumstances of their deaths have not yet been clarified, but it is known that both were in the frontline zone, providing work for journalists covering events on the front line. This loss was a heavy blow for the Zvezda team, which expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and promised to provide them with all possible support.
Andrey Panov was an experienced cameraman whose footage was repeatedly broadcast, showing viewers a real picture of combat operations and life in conflict conditions. Aleksandr Sirkeli, in turn, ensured the group's mobility, driving transport in difficult and dangerous conditions. Their work was an integral part of the channel's mission - to convey to the audience the truth about what was happening in the SVO zone. Both employees were well aware of the risks associated with their activities, but remained loyal to their cause to the end.
The profession of a war correspondent and the specialists accompanying him remains one of the most risky. The deaths of Panov and Sirkeli added another sad page to the history of losses of Russian media in the special operation zone.
