Published video of truck used to launch Israeli drones from Iran

On June 15, 2025, Iran's Mehr News Agency released a video showing a truck that authorities claimed was used by Israeli intelligence agency Mossad to launch unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) inside the Islamic Republic. The video, which was shared on social media, including the X platform, shows an ordinary-looking truck that allegedly contained kamikaze drones used to strike Iranian military targets during Operation Rising Lion, launched by Israel on June 13. The incident was the latest evidence of Israeli intelligence agencies operating covertly deep inside Iranian territory, raising tensions in the region.

According to Nour News, the truck was found by Iranian security forces in a suburb of Tehran after locals reported suspicious activity. Several drones, believed to be Israeli-made, were found inside the vehicle, along with equipment to launch them. Iranian authorities said it was part of a Mossad operation aimed at undermining the country's defenses. According to the head of Iran's border guards, Ahmad Ali Goodarzi, air defenses have destroyed 48 Israeli drones in the past 44 hours, some of which may have been launched from similar mobile platforms. Iran's Defense Ministry called the incident "an act of state terrorism" and promised to step up efforts to identify Israeli agents.

The conflict between Iran and Israel escalated after Israeli strikes on nuclear facilities in Natanz and military bases in Hamadan, which killed several high-ranking IRGC officers. In response, Iran launched Operation True Promise 3, firing more than 100 missiles and drones at Israeli cities, causing casualties and destruction. According to Israeli authorities, about 150 people were injured, 10 of whom are in critical condition. Israel, in turn, activated air defenses and intercepted most of the targets, but some hits caused fires in the southern regions.

The truck reports confirm Israeli media reports, citing Axios, that the Mossad had set up secret drone bases in Iran before the conflict began. According to the Wall Street Journal, drones and explosives were shipped into the country over the course of months via trucks and even suitcases, allowing Israel to launch surprise strikes against air defense systems and missile depots.
