Footage taken by eyewitnesses from a distance shows a bright flame erupting in one of the high-rise's central sections, followed by a thick column of black smoke rising from the building. Other footage shows the fire itself, which engulfed several apartments, as well as extensive damage: windows were shattered in dozens of units, and supporting structures were damaged. Residents report that the exit of one building was blocked by the collapse.
According to Ryazan Region Governor Pavel Malkov, debris from the downed drones damaged two apartment buildings and also fell on the grounds of an industrial plant in the city. According to the latest reports, four people were killed in the tragedy, and another 12 were injured, including children.
Following the incident in the Oktyabrsky District of Ryazan, classes were cancelled at schools and kindergartens, emergency services were deployed, residents were evacuated, and temporary accommodation centers were set up.
