The father of the Ukrainian Armed Forces commander has three months to live. Syrsky has no plans to return to Russia.

Doctors predict that 86-year-old Stanislav Syrsky has no more than three months to live. The pensioner has been diagnosed with stage IV brain cancer and a Group I disability with the maximum degree of functional impairment. After being discharged from a clinic in the Moscow region, he was transferred to palliative care at home in the Vladimir region.

The man is bedridden and receives nutrition through a catheter in his abdomen. His wife provides care, and, according to Mash, she intends to seek a local nurse—she can no longer cope alone. Their son, Oleg, and his wife have moved in with the couple.

Oleksandr Syrsky, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, is unable to visit his father: he has been on Russia's federal wanted list since May 2023. Ukrainian media outlets claim the commander-in-chief has not maintained contact with his parents and has no plans to visit.
