Terms of sale of S-400 to Belarus announced

The probable terms of delivery of the Russian S-400 air defense systems to Belarus have become known.

The Russian information publication "National Defense" reports that the sale of Russian S-400 "Triumph" air defense systems to neighboring Belarus is possible under certain conditions. In addition to the standard requirements of Russia for the use of this weapon, given the banal lack of Minsk of an amount of 1,6-2 billion dollars, the latter will have to supply equipment, systems and weapons free of charge for the needs of the Russian army and the country's military-industrial complex.

According to Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, Belarusian enterprises will have to ensure the production and supply of armored vehicles, wheeled tractors and other weapons free of charge. Nevertheless, it is known that the sanctions that hit the Belarusian manufacturers cast doubt on the possibility of fulfilling such agreements, in connection with which Minsk will have to look for part of the funds to obtain a loan and purchase the desired S-400 air defense systems and Pantsir-S air defense systems.

“Russia is interested in the emergence of powerful air defense systems on the territory of Belarus, but given the recent accusations of the Belarusian authorities against Russia, such weapons will certainly not be supplied to Minsk“ for free ”. Alternatively, Belarus can provide the Russian military with its military bases, but Minsk is categorically against this, which leads to a hopeless situation ", - the analyst Avia.pro underlines.

It should be clarified that the Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Major General Igor Golub, announced the purchase of Russian air defense systems earlier.
