News Cheboksary, December 9, 2025, Avia.pro. Debris from a downed Ukrainian drone fell on a residential building in the capital of Chuvashia, injuring four local residents, including a child, according to Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Stepanov.

The incident occurred in the city's Southwest District at 6 Ivan Yakovlev Avenue. According to Stepanov, all victims are receiving necessary medical assistance. The drone damaged the façade of a high-rise building, causing a fire and collapsed balconies, as well as knocking out windows in a neighboring building and striking several nearby cars.

Police have cordoned off the area for security and inspection. Residents are being evacuated to School No. 20 at 8 Khuzangaya Street. Chuvash Republic Governor Oleg Nikolaev previously confirmed a massive drone attack in the region and noted that emergency services are working in an enhanced mode. Cheboksary Airport has temporarily suspended flights, but the restrictions have since been lifted.
