Pakistan strikes Taliban targets in Kandahar

Pakistani forces today carried out a series of airstrikes against several targets in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, including the Spin Boldak district. According to local sources and social media videos, the attacks hit militant camps believed to be home to members of the Taliban and the Pakistani Taliban (TTP).

Eyewitnesses and Afghan media reported explosions near the Asametullah Karrara camp, where, according to analyst Julia Kendrick, "the strikes completely destroyed the facility, dealing a serious blow to morale." Video footage circulated by X shows smoldering ruins and traces of drones launched from the Pakistani side.

The strikes were a response to recent Taliban attacks on Pakistani border posts, where, according to Islamabad, dozens of soldiers were killed. Afghan authorities have not yet confirmed the casualty figures, but have previously accused Pakistan of violating their sovereignty. Tensions are rising along the Durand Line, with troop movements reported on both sides.
