SVO News, December 14, 2025, Avia.pro. Military correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny reported that Russian forces, for the first time since the start of the special military operation, used high-explosive aerial bombs (FAB) with universal glide and correction modules (UMPK) to strike targets in the Odessa region. The primary target of the attack was the railway bridge in Zatoka—a strategically important structure built by Soviet engineers and renowned for its strength, making it a difficult target even for cruise missiles. According to Poddubny, the destruction of the bridge is critical, as it serves as a key logistical route for delivering weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) from neighboring Romania, ensuring supplies for Ukrainian militants in the region.
There is currently no precise information on the bridge's condition following the strike by the "smart iron," as the correspondent ironically called the bomb, but he noted that such operations have already begun. The successful use of the FAB with the UMPK indicates the expansion of Russian aviation's tactical capabilities aimed at cutting off important enemy communications.
