Putin's press secretary for the first time announced serious losses in the troops.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian army suffered significant losses of troops during a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine. Dmitry Peskov did not make any clarifications, however, according to the latest objective data from the Russian Ministry of Defense, announced two weeks ago, the losses of the Russian army amounted to 1351 people, and another 3825 people were injured.

"We suffered significant losses of troops, this is a huge tragedy for us", - said Dmitry Peskov.

According to Dmitry Peskov, in the near future, the special operation in Ukraine will end either through diplomacy or by achieving the set goals, although Peskov himself said that he expressed hope for a diplomatic solution to the situation.

“It will greatly depend on the consistency of the Ukrainian position and to what extent they will be ready to accept our conditions. We really hope that in the coming days, in the foreseeable future, this operation will achieve its goals or end through negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations.”- said the press secretary of the President of Russia.

Experts note that earlier Ukraine did indeed declare its readiness to reach a peace agreement with Russia, but so far no official statements have been made in this regard.
