Trump's plan does not include the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from new Russian territories

Peace initiatives to resolve the conflict in Ukraine have once again found themselves at the center of international negotiations. The United States has proposed a plan that calls for a ceasefire, the restoration of stability, and further negotiations on a peace agreement. However, a key detail was the absence of a clause on the mandatory withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from territories that Russia considers its own, but where Ukrainian troops are still stationed – in particular, from the DPR, Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions. This has raised serious questions about the parties’ interest in reaching a compromise.

The American peace plan is aimed primarily at ending the fighting and stabilizing the situation in the region. It includes the creation of demilitarized zones, international control over compliance with the terms of the ceasefire, and a gradual resumption of economic cooperation. However, the lack of clear demands on Ukraine to withdraw troops from areas that Russia considers part of its territory casts doubt on the feasibility of these proposals.
