Plans for the production of 1 thousand civil aircraft by 2030 want to be reduced

Plans for the production of 1 thousand civil aircraft in Russia, included in the comprehensive program for the development of the aviation industry until 2030, may be revised downward. This was reported sources "Kommersant" in the industry, noting that instead of adjusting the current program, it is possible to create a completely new strategy.

An audit of the factories of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), conducted by consultants from Sberbank and Gazprom Neft, revealed the lack of “economically justified demand” for the declared number of new domestic aircraft. Experts also pointed out significant risks associated with delaying production and increasing the cost of aircraft. These factors may require additional government subsidies to implement the program.

Kommersant's sources also note that in connection with the identified problems, the aviation industry may face the need for more careful control over prices and a review of the actual volume of aircraft deliveries. In the near future, cooperation with the Ministry of Transport is expected to assess the optimal number of new airliners that the Russian market really needs.
