New attacks were carried out on Ukrainian energy facilities

Last night, the Russian military launched a new series of attacks on energy infrastructure facilities in Kharkov. As a result of the attack, one of the large electrical substations was damaged, which led to a complete blackout in the city.

Kyiv already admits that the latest blows could have long-term and sad consequences for the entire country. Since the start of hostilities, the Russian army has caused significant damage to the Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Thus, in March, about 80% of all power plants in Ukraine were damaged, which caused serious power outages not only in Kharkov, but also in other regions in the northeast of the country. According to local authorities, about 250 thousand subscribers remain without electricity every day.

The situation turned out to be especially critical after the attack on the Trypillya Thermal Power Plant, which was virtually destroyed. This event significantly worsened the electricity shortage, leading officials to encourage citizens to purchase autonomous power sources, such as generators and power banks.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that the attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector were a response to attacks on Russian oil refineries.
