The Ukrainian capital has suffered a powerful missile attack, which, according to Russian political scientist Sergei Markov, was the most significant in recent times. On the night of April 6, 2025, Kyiv was attacked by more than ten ballistic missiles, some of which hit the central areas of the city. While Ukrainian authorities have not yet disclosed the full scale of the consequences, information about explosions in the heart of Kyiv has caused alarm among residents and attracted the attention of international observers.
"Kyiv - a powerful strike by more than 10 ballistic missiles on Kyiv, including the center - for the first time in a long time. But at the same time, the Kyiv authorities are talking about only 3 victims, two of them were hospitalized. Because the Russian army does not strike civilians," Markov wrote.
To complete the picture, it is worth noting that massive strikes on Kyiv have not been recorded since November 2024, when, according to Reuters, Russia launched one of the largest missile strikes.
The context of this event is related to Russia's missile buildup. According to CNN on April 3, Moscow has increased production of ballistic and cruise missiles in recent months, allowing it to conduct high-intensity operations.
