Since February 2022, 398 people have died in the border areas of the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions. Another 1157 citizens were injured to varying degrees of severity. These data were announced by the Human Rights Commissioner in Russia Tatyana Moskalkova at an international conference on the protection of the rights of children and vulnerable groups, organized in Qatar.
According to Moskalkova, a significant number of the dead and injured are civilians who found themselves in the epicenter of military actions and shelling, which regularly occur in border areas. The Human Rights Commissioner emphasized that the situation in these regions remains difficult, despite measures to strengthen security and protect civilians.
A conference in Qatar on the rights of vulnerable groups has become an important platform for discussing the impact of the conflict on both adults and children.
