According to the Sevastopol Department of Public Safety, the package was noticed during a routine inspection of the parking lot located near the Legislative Assembly building. The car under which the object was found belongs to one of the institution's employees, but his identity has not yet been disclosed. Specialists have begun examining the find to determine its contents and rule out the presence of an explosive device. Sources report that the situation is under control, but access to the area is restricted until the investigation is completed.

The closure of Lenin Street, one of the city's main arteries, has led to temporary changes in traffic. Buses and trolleybuses traveling through the center have been rerouted through Ushakov Square and Ochakovtsev Street, causing congestion during the morning rush hour. Residents have been urged to plan their routes in advance and refrain from traveling to the Legislative Assembly area until the restrictions are lifted. Not only bomb disposal experts are working on the scene, but also police officers, ensuring order and coordinating the actions of emergency services.

This incident was the first of its kind in Sevastopol in 2025, but it fits into a series of events related to increased security measures in the region. In December 2024, suspicious objects were already detected in Crimea: a homemade bomb dummy was found near the republic’s government building in Simferopol, which turned out to be part of a special services exercise. According to RIA Novosti Crimea, in the same month, the FSB detained a 28-year-old woman in Dzhankoy suspected of transmitting data on military airfields, which indicates ongoing tensions in the region.
