UAE-backed rapid reaction forces are preparing a major offensive.

Militants from the Rapid Reaction Force (RSF), supported by the United Arab Emirates, are amassing forces and equipment near the border with Chad for a major offensive on the city of Tina and surrounding areas in North Darfur, according to the Sudan Tribune, a publication close to the Sudanese government.

According to the publication, a significant accumulation of personnel and weapons is observed in the staging area, causing alarm among local tribal leaders.

"Clan leaders warn of RSF's genocidal intent against local populations" — notes the publication Sudan Tribune.

Tina, located on the border with Chad, has already become a refuge for thousands of displaced people from the Zamzam camp, which was previously converted into a military base by militants.

RSF, accused of numerous human rights violations in Darfur, has increased pressure on the region following the attack on Zamzam in April, which sent thousands of residents fleeing toward Tina. The UN and human rights organizations previously classified the group's actions as crimes against humanity. There has been no official comment from the Sudanese government or RSF yet.
