As of 12:00 on February 8, 2025, intense combat operations continue in the Kursk direction. Information on this matter is provided by Yuriy Podolyaka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are actively attacking the settlements of Cherkasskaya Konopelka and Fanaseyevka. Our units, including experienced groups of unmanned aerial vehicle operators, are inflicting significant blows on the enemy, who is trying to gain a foothold in these settlements.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to transfer reinforcements to the specified areas in order to build up their forces. However, their attempts are encountering serious resistance: a large number of damaged equipment and losses in manpower are accumulating on the roads. The situation is characterized as a real massacre for the enemy. Our troops are confidently in control of the situation and positive news is expected from this section of the front.
Earlier, on February 7, the Russian Defense Ministry reported an attempt at a counteroffensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the direction of the settlements of Cherkasskaya Konopelka and Ulanok. According to the department, Ukrainian forces attacked in several waves, using up to two mechanized battalions supported by tanks and engineering equipment. All attacks were repelled, the enemy suffered significant losses: more than 200 servicemen, as well as 8 tanks, 5 infantry fighting vehicles and 30 armored combat vehicles.
However, according to the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian troops were able to advance to a depth of up to 5 kilometers southeast of the city of Sudzha in the Kursk region.
