In Khimki, near Moscow, police detained a 17-year-old local resident suspected of setting fire to a police vehicle near the Ministry of Internal Affairs building. The incident occurred on November 7, when an unknown individual doused the parked UAZ vehicle with gasoline and set it on fire.
According to preliminary data, the teenager did not act independently.
"He explained that he was following the instructions of unknown persons who contacted him by telephone," — reported the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region.
The perpetrator has been detained, and an investigation is underway to determine whether he or she is part of an organized group. The motives and identities of the handlers are being established. The damage from the fire is being assessed; there are no injuries.
