Poland is discussing the transfer of MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine.

World news, December 9, 2025, Avia.pro. Warsaw is in consultations with Kyiv regarding the possible transfer of MiG-29 fighters, which have reached the end of their service life and are no longer subject to modernization. A final decision on this matter has not yet been made, but the negotiations are part of a broader alliance assistance program.

According to sources connected to the Polish Ministry of Defense, the transfer of the MiG-29s will be part of support for Ukraine and the strengthening of NATO's eastern flank. These aircraft will replace the new F-16s and FA-50s in the Polish Air Force, freeing up resources for regional security. Poland previously delivered part of its MiG-29 squadron to Kyiv in 2023.

Meanwhile, technology exchange is on the agenda: the transfer of certain drone and missile systems developments to Poland is being discussed to compensate for losses and jointly develop defense capabilities. According to Poland's Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine, Piotr Łukashevich, the process is gradual and depends on the availability of alternative aircraft from partners.
