The Polish authorities have decided to conclude the largest ever contract for the purchase of multiple launch rocket systems.

Poland intends to purchase 500 HIMARS rocket launchers, which are heavy long-range multiple launch rocket systems. We are talking about the purchase of almost 80 batteries, which are high-tech weapons capable of delivering strikes at distances of more than a hundred kilometers. However, much more remarkable is the fact that each such installation is capable of delivering tactical missile strikes at distances up to 500 kilometers.

According to the data presented, the head of the Ministry of National Defense of Poland, Mariusz Blaszczak, announced today that Poland will submit a request for the purchase of 500 M142 HIMARS launchers for the Polish army. As the minister emphasized, this purchase will significantly increase the capabilities of the Polish missile forces and artillery.

The amount of a possible contract for the supply of 500 American HIMARS missile systems will be about 2,5-3 billion dollars. At the same time, experts believe that the United States will approve the deal in the very near future.

According to Polish media, Poland is interested in buying American missiles for HIMARS systems with a range of up to 300 kilometers, however, it is ready to consider purchasing more long-range weapons. Moreover, according to some reports, the purchase of the Iskander OTRK, announced earlier by the Belarusian side, became the reason for this.
