Russian presidential aide Yuriy Ushakov called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's comments regarding Donald Trump's nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize in exchange for Tomahawk missiles a "monstrous idea." Ushakov made this statement on Thursday, commenting on Zelenskyy's recent remarks.
Earlier, in a conversation with reporters, Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine was prepared to nominate Trump for the award if the United States transferred long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Kyiv, and if a ceasefire was achieved along the line of contact.
"If Trump gives the world—especially the Ukrainian people—a chance for such a ceasefire, then yes, he should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. We are nominating him on behalf of Ukraine.", Zelensky said.
Ushakov noted that this position is puzzling in its naivety.
