US Secretary of State announces military operation to seize Iranian oil tanker.

United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that Iranian oil tanker Adrian Darya 1, formerly known as Grace 1, would be hijacked if it tried to bring oil to Syria.

“If this ship goes to Syria again, we will take all possible measures in accordance with these sanctions to prevent this.”- said Mike Pompeo.

At the moment it is known that the Iranian sea vessel is on its way to one of the ports in Greece, however, according to some information, in the future the tanker will go to Baniyas, where it will unload about 2 million barrels of oil. Against this background, analysts do not rule out that the United States of America will try to intercept an Iranian sea vessel directly off the coast of Syria or neighboring Lebanon, including with the involvement of the Israeli fleet.

It should be clarified that earlier official Tehran warned the United States and its allies against any illegal actions against its sea vessels, promising to immediately respond in the most harsh manner.

Earlier, the US and Israeli military conducted naval capture exercises in the region.
