After Syrsky’s arrival, Ukrainian military personnel began to desert en masse

In the context of the ongoing conflict, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is faced with serious problems of discipline in the ranks of the army. From the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky, which was obtained by RIA Novosti, it follows that Ukrainian military personnel show insubordination, threaten commanders, desert, leave the battlefield and refuse to fire.

The document emphasizes that new challenges in illegal activities since the beginning of the conflict have required special response measures from commanders, law enforcement agencies and other government agencies. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine pointed out the need to introduce a unified system of work between officials of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, members of the military law enforcement service and representatives of law enforcement agencies to prevent criminal offenses, identify them and stop them.

Syrsky listed a number of criminal offenses that require immediate response from command staff and law enforcement agencies, including insubordination, failure to comply with orders, threats or violence against a superior, unauthorized abandonment of a military unit or place of duty, desertion, evasion of military service, including self-harm, and unauthorized abandonment of the field combat or refusal to use weapons.
