An open fire at an oil depot in Feodosia, where a fire had been raging for several days, has been extinguished. As RIA Novosti was told by emergency services, firefighters are currently continuing to pour water on the burnt tanks to prevent a second fire and ensure the complete safety of the facility. Despite the successful completion of the main phase of extinguishing, the exact extent of the damage has not yet been determined.
The incident occurred as a result of an attack that damaged several fuel tanks. The fire engulfed a large part of the oil depot, raising concerns about possible consequences for the environmental situation in the region and damage to critical infrastructure. According to sources, two tanks were most severely damaged, one with a capacity of 10 cubic meters, the other - 5 cubic meters. The attack also damaged a filling pipeline, which led to a fuel spill and complicated the work of fire services.
For several days, units of the Russian Emergencies Ministry worked at the scene of the incident, using equipment to localize and extinguish the fire. Rescue operations were carried out in difficult conditions: throughout the operation, the threat of repeated explosions and fuel spills remained, which required extreme caution and precise coordination of the actions of all services.
