Serbian President announces readiness to resign

Aleksandar Vucic announced his intention to leave the post of President of Serbia.

After the Serbian president accused the West of trying to foment war between NATO and Russia, the Serbian leader unexpectedly announced his readiness to resign. The reason for such a statement on the part of Aleksandar Vučić could be the negative rhetoric against Russia and NATO, which, for obvious reasons, caused discontent among Serbs and European leaders.

In his recent statement, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that Serbia does not support the Russian military operation on the territory of Ukraine, and also announced that Serbia does not recognize the entry into Russia of four new regions (LPR, DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions - ed.), as well as the Crimea. After this statement, a lot of criticism appeared against Vucic, in connection with which the Serbian leader, probably, announced his intention to resign.

“This is my last mandate anyway, I know what my duty is. If there is a need to somehow save the state and win some time, I would not hesitate.”- said Alexander Vucic.

What exactly Vucic means by his resignation to save Serbia, the Serbian leader did not explain.
