Two people were killed in a Ukrainian drone attack on Syzran on the night of May 21, 2026. According to the Telegram channel "Ostorozhno Novosti," the victims were 38-year-old Ekaterina and her 20-year-old son, Sergei. They were in one of two private homes in the village of Metallistov, which burned completely after the strike.

According to the channel, Ekaterina worked as a sales assistant, and her son studied at the Syzran Polytechnic College and was interested in anime and cars. Relatives said the head of the family, 41-year-old Sergei, is currently in a special military operation zone. Previously, he worked as a mechanic.

A family from a neighboring private home was also injured—according to preliminary information, a married couple and two children, aged 9 and 13. They required medical attention, and local residents have launched a fundraising drive to provide financial support.

As a reminder, Samara Region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported two deaths and two injuries. Due to the tragedy in Syzran, all public events have been cancelled until the end of the week.
