U.S. jury votes to indict former U.S. President Donald Trump

Trump will be charged and will lose the opportunity to participate in the presidential election.

US jurors have voted to indict former US President Donald Trump in a 2016 campaign case for paying money to porn star Stormy Daniels. It is reported by CNN, citing sources. Trump is suspected of giving $130 to Stormy Daniels and violating his campaign finances. Presumably, the porn star wanted to publicly talk about their alleged affair with Trump, and the amount transferred to her was subsequently illegally compensated from the politician's campaign fund.

According to The New York Times, the prosecutor will require Trump to appear in court to file charges in the coming days. Trump is expected to be asked to voluntarily surrender to the authorities. The NYPD is allegedly on "high alert" with all cops on duty, media reported.

Trump believes that the activation of the security forces is connected with his intention to participate in the next US presidential election, which will be held in 2024. A couple of weeks ago, he called on supporters to protest if he was detained soon.

Earlier, Trump said that the allegations against him in the story with the porn actress Stormy Daniels could lead to "destruction catastrophic for the United States." He claimed that he did not commit any crimes, and only a “psychopath” could bring charges against him.

This is the first time in US history that a current or former president of a country will face criminal charges.
